ASSESSMENT CRITERIA

The school will evaluate the students comprehensively on a regular basis in order to assess the scholastic and co-scholastic domains by means of practical work, assignment and comprehensive tests.

The focus is on inclusion of those aspects which are related to the heart and the hand. These includes the psychomotor skills, physical development, life skills, attitudes, values, interests and participation in co-curricular activities.

Co-Scholastic and Co-curricular activities (Class I – V)

Co-scholastic Area will be evaluated on the basis of Life skills (Thinking Skills Social Skills and Emotional Skills), Attitude and Values (Regularity,Sincerity,Attitude towards Teachers, Attitude towards Classmates,Uniform,Neatness,Orderly movement). Co-curricular Activities includes Visual and Performance Arts (Music, Dance, Art Education, Sports, IT etc.) Co-Scholastic and Co-curricular attainments will be done on       3-Point Scale (A – C)

Co-Scholastic Activities ( Class VI – VIII)

For holistic development of the student, co-curricular activities in the following areas will be carried out and graded term-wise on a 3-Point grading scale (A – C):

a)     Work Education

b)    Art Education (Visual & Performing Art)

c)     Health & Physical Education (Sports / Martial Arts / Yoga / NCC etc.)

d)    Discipline (Regularity,Sincerity,Attitude towards Teachers, Attitude towards Classmates,Uniform,Neatness,Orderly movement) 

EVALUATION SYSTEM FOR CLASSES IX & X

The assessment structure for class IX is same as of class X, only the Annual Exam of class IX will be conducted in the school and that of class X will be CBSE conducted examination. The assessment criteria is as follows:

Periodic Assessment (10 Marks) : It comprises of Pen Paper Test and Multiple Assessment for each Subject. Pen Paper Test will be 5 marks constituting of average of 5 marks of four cycle tests. And 5 marks for Multiple Assessment.

Note Book Submission (5 Marks): Evaluation will be done on the basis of regularity, assignment completion and neatness and upkeep of notebook round the year.

Subject Enrichment Activity (5 Marks) Evaluation will be done on the basis of three activities in a year.

Annual Examination (80 Marks):  

·        Student has to secure 33%   out of 80 marks in all the five subjects separately.

·        Annual Examination will consist of entire year long syllabus.

Promotion Policy: In order to be declared as having passed  in Class IX the student

Eligibility for Compartment:  A student failing in two of the five subjects shall be placed in compartment in only those subject(s) provided he/she qualifies in the subjects of internal assessment.

Co-Scholastic Activities (Class IX & X)

The co-curricular activities will be graded on 5-point grading scale (A – E) and will have no descriptive indicators. No upscaling of grades will be done. Assessment will be done on the following criteria:

 

a)             Art Education (Visual & Performing Art)

b)             Health & Physical Education

c)             Discipline (Attendance, Sincerity,  Behaviour, Values)

Scholar Blazer is awarded to Class XII student on the basis of Scholastic score in Class XI and Class XII (Term-I i.e. till Half Yearly Examination).

 Co-Scholastic Areas (Class XI – XII)

General Studies and Health & Physical Education will be integral part of the curriculum for classes XI & XII and wold be in the routine of the school for holistic development of the child. Student will be graded on 9-point grading scale (A1 – E2) for the entire session.
