Night Sky Observation Workshop

Astronomy and space science workshops always encourage students to develop scientific interests, 21st century skills and intellectual skills. To promote this incentive, Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan Vidyashram, Pratap Nagar in collaboration with Space Center organized a workshop on Astronomy on 27 April 2023 along with celebrating Astronomy Month. The timing of the workshop was kept from 6:00 pm to 9:30 pm. To begin with the workshop, students were guided about astronomy. The students of classes I to V were given information about celestial objects like moon, star clusters, other constellations. Students of classes VI to XII were told about telescope, its importance, invention, types, working and astronomical discoveries. Also, the model of rocket launch enthralled the students. The students were made to observe the night sky with the help of giant telescopes from the school premises. At the end all the students were given takeaway kits and certificates. Nearly 400 people including students and visitors participated in the workshop.
