The Prefectorial Council is a dynamic and proactive student body that promotes leadership, accountability, and teamwork. It empowers students to take initiative, uphold discipline, and contribute positively to the school community.
Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) – Prefectorial Council
Purpose
To ensure a fair and transparent selection of students for the School Prefectorial Council based on leadership, discipline, participation, and conduct.
Selection Process
- The school invites applications, clearly stating eligibility criteria and timelines.
- Eligible students submit a duly filled nomination form with complete evidence of curricular and co-curricular participation. Incomplete or late submissions may be rejected.
- Applications are reviewed and shortlisted based on merit.
- Shortlisted students are assessed on communication skills, regularity, attitude, discipline, and leadership qualities.
- Selected candidates appear before the Selection Committee for an interview assessing leadership potential, responsibility, and alignment with school values.
- Final selection is based on cumulative performance. Selected students are informed and formally inducted through an Investiture Ceremony, followed by an orientation on roles and responsibilities.
Roles and Responsibilities
Prefects assist in maintaining discipline, support school events, mentor younger students, and represent student concerns to the administration. They are expected to lead by example and uphold school values.
Meetings and Reporting
Regular meetings are conducted to plan initiatives, address challenges, and coordinate duties. Prefects report to designated faculty members for guidance and review.
Code of Conduct
Prefects must maintain integrity, responsibility, and exemplary conduct always. The prefect badge and position may be revoked for misconduct or violations of school rules. The decision of the School Administration shall be final and binding.
